Since 2002, the Milemarker Group has been serving the needs of individuals and small businesses with a wide array of tax, financial planning, and business consulting services. Founder John Graham, a certified public accountant, has 28 years of experience in all areas of taxation.
Prior to founding the Milemarker Group, John spent 12 years with two Big Four firms, where he worked in both Federal tax practices and State and Local Tax consulting practices. John’s experience traversed both income and franchise taxes and sales and transaction taxes, and included compliance, planning and consulting, business restructuring, controversy, and project management. John’s client base ranged from Fortune 100 companies to mom-and-pop small businesses.
John also spent four years as the tax director of a publicly-traded telecommunications company, where his tax experience covered international, federal, and all phases of state and local taxes (income and franchise taxes, sales and transaction taxes, property taxes).
Concurrent with his management of the Milemarker Group, John has worked with a national credits and incentives practice, working with companies to secure statutory and negotiating incentives for economic development, investment, and hiring activities.
John graduated from the University of Alabama in 1986, where he received both Master of Taxation and Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration (major in accounting) degrees.
